My art practice embeds references to family history, collective memory and belonging as an ongoing dialogue between past and present. Through the creation and reinterpretation of historic garments, this work considers dress as function, ornament, and symbol, creating transformation while simultaneously producing distance, memory, and meaning. I utilize textiles, sculptural installation, the performance of living history, and conceptual practices, as well as methodologies from photography and filmmaking to construct visual narratives. My re-creations become storytelling objects that connect personal and ancestral histories with speculative futures through what I call “temporal alchemy”.
